Arrived Geneva 1975 by plane from London having stopped there to visit a sister on the way to Switzerland from the USA. This was a first experience in Europe. Boarded a train in Geneva heading for Lausanne. Had first opportunity to use 5 years of High School and College French at arrival at train station in Lausanne. Asked simple question of a conductor who responded very nicely but whatever he said remained a mystery.
Lausanne was another world ... very different from New York. All was well organized, clean, incredibly beautiful ...exciting.
Was on my way to a hotel outside of Lausanne, in Cully where I and 45 other students would spend a month sharing rooms as part of the requirement for this particular MBA course at IMEDE (now IMD).
At one point I lost my wallet on a train from Cully to Lausanne. Before I knew it was lost the wallet appeared in my school mailbox placed there by the local Swiss police.
