Last week -- for the first time ever. Ironman Swtizerland has sold out! 2,222 spots were booked up in record time, according to the website.

I have to check my records on this one, but besides being a confirmed first for IMCH, it is my understanding that most European Ironman races do not sell to capacity like most of their USA counterparts. Gosh, do you think this year's perfect weather and breathtaking venue had anything to do with it?
The legendary event is held in Zurich. Race date is 13 July 2008. And yes, my friends, I will BE THERE!!!!
If you are one of the unlucky ones that has been denied an opportunity to swim 2.4 miles, bike 112, and then run 26.2 in the most inspiring landscape of them all, you still have several options.
1) There may still be some spots left in Ironman Arizona. You'll have to hurry up and train, though -- it goes off in early spring.
2) There are still spots left for the Half Ironman race earlier in the season in Rapperswill. You can do this race and spend the balance of the next year, as have I, daydreaming of the finish line at Zurich . Any extra energy you may have on July 13...PLEASE send it my way, I will be needing it!!!
3) Monday after IMCH (14 July) , man your mouse!!! This time , don't let it get away from you. Be there when registration opens and click quick! Some of the Ironman events have been selling out the first day, in as little as six minutes. Yes, friends, not only is the event itself a race, just snagging a spot for yourself can be quite the competition. Don't even get me started about hotel rooms.
