And I'm the Jungfrau they have to do the obligatory ski chase down—at the start of every Bond movie.
Have you noticed that Switzerland usually plays a key role in Bond films? From the ski stunt at the start of the movie (okay maybe that's done on something more user friendly, or CGI-ed in, still it's the thought that counts, right?) and most important of all the very first "Bond Girl", Ursula Andress, an actress of whose virtues rival the Jungfrau. She emerges (not unlike Venus) from the sea-foam in a champagne-colored bikini. What's a little strange is Ursula Andress playing against type here, she is a woman-child naif, replete with a conch. It's unsettling especially if you recall her as Ayesha, the (startlingly blonde) African Queen in She (Who Must be Obeyed). Or perhaps in the Bond movie she is personifying a "jungfrau"...
There's a first time for everything. Recently, Swiss-born Marc Forster was picked to direct the next Bond flick. Forster who manages to keep an extremely low profile in Hollywood is better known for his films Neverland, Monster's Ball (which garnered Halle Berry her Oscar. She's a more recent Bond Girl too, isn't she? Maybe she can do the pc remake of She), and more recently Stranger Than Fiction. His manning the Bond helm is a clear indication of the Bond movie entering the realm of the "highbrow".
So far we've got Swiss of everything Bond: Location. Femme Fatale, and Auteur. Everything except the theme song. Needed: Swiss Chanteuse to trump Shirley Bassey (if you dare).
