Since finding out I'm half Swiss, I decided to look into who some of the celebrities are who share our Swiss heritage. I was surprised to find Renee Zellweger who is a big favorite of mine. Also, Rene Auberjonois, Yul Brynner and another favorite, Sandra Hess. And then there is the singer, Jewel, and the Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger. And I especially loved finding out that the beautiful Greta Garbo was of Swiss heritage. I would like to search further to see what other Swiss celebrities there are. I want to next search for Swiss writers.
My Dad, who I get my Swiss heritage from, was from a family of talented people, too. My Dad could sing very well and was a wonderful story teller. He had a brother who sang often with his two twin daughters. I, myself, love to sing and have sung for weddings and other events including karaoke. I also love to draw and tell stories. And my two daughters sing with me sometimes and one of them is quite talented in drawing. My love of the arts makes it that much more interesting to find other artists of Swiss descent. I hope to pass this down to my daughters and grandchildren.
