Switzerland launched the website www.ThinkSwiss.org, the information and exchange online- platform of Think Swiss - Brainstorm the future, the US wide program on education, research and innovation.  “Think Swiss – Brainstorm the future” aims to highlight and showcase Switzerland as a global, knowledge-based country full of talent, high-tech opportunities and creativity – crucial assets to secure a sustainable quality of life for future generations. It’ s goal is tofoster an even stronger network of long-term relations in education, research and innovation between the United States and Switzerland. The program focuses on the exchange of expertise and know-how in academia and the high-tech business community in Switzerland and the USA.

The Consulate of Switzerland, Swiss House of Advanced Research and Education in Boston, its sister office swissnex in San Francisco and the Office of Science, Technology and Higher Education (OSTHE) at the Embassy of Switzerland in Washington, D.C. are the leading houses of the program.

They will organize numerous events, workshops and exhibitions in cooperation with the other Swiss General Consulates and other institutions in the USA to a target audience of academia, high tech businesses, government representatives and NGOs.  The website gives an overview of the twelve core topics that were chosen by the leading houses to engage opinion leaders and visionaries from academia and industry to participate in a creative dialogue. Topics range from Global Warming, Life Sciences, Human Rights to Robotics and more. A periodical newsletter will inform the subscribers about the program’s highlights. The flagship event will be held at the Swiss Embassy in Washington, D.C on April 23. High-level representatives and experts on E-Voting and E-Democracy from Switzerland will share best practices with their US counterparts. A press conference on the ThinkSwiss program is also planned for that day. More details will be forthcoming. The program is under the auspices of Presence Switzerland (PRS), the Swiss State Secretariat for Education and Research (SER) and the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs. For further information visit our website www.ThinkSwiss.org or contact Maria Stergiou, Program Manager ThinkSwissSwiss House of Advanced Research and EducationConsulate of SwitzerlandTel.: +1-617 876-3076 ext. 15Fax: +1-617 876-3079E-mail: [email protected]
