Famous Swiss in the U.S. Q'Orianka Kilcher

Movie actress. Born in Schweigmait, Germany, raised in Hawaii. Great grandparents on her mother's side, Yule and Ruth Kilcher, emigrated from Switzerland with their 8 children to Alaska in 1941. Q'Orianka's father is from Peru and he belongs to the Quechua/Huachipaeri people. (Q'Orianka means "golden eagle" in Quechua) She had a part in "How the Grinch stole Christmas", and her first starring role was as Pocahontas in "The New World" (2005) (in which her younger brother Kainoa Wilc'amayu, and also had a small role and her Swiss grandmother Wurtila - "Wurzy" - was an extra.) Her mother, Saskia, was the daughter of Ray Genet, an immigrant from French-speaking Switzerland, who was a member of the two-man team which made the first winter ascent of Mount McKinley.
