Swiss Genealogical Society SGS

Would you like to know who your ancestors were? Do you need help, at least to get started with your own research? The Swiss Genealogical Society to help you search for traces of your ancestors.

SGS will only be able to help you researching your ancestors in Switzerland, if you can give surname, first name, date of birth and the place of origin of the person emigrating from Switzerland. Especially the place of citizenship is of great importance! Minimal information would be the canton (state).

SGS offers the following services:
	For a reimbursement of 20 $ SGS provides a bibliography of publications on a given surname as well as indications where additional information on this name may be available. The applicant would then continue to do her/his own research. For a reimbursement of 50 $ SGS confirms the correctness of known or found data. SGS further provides information on individuals with the name of interest; living at the place of citizenship (Heimatort). If interested in time consuming and in-depth genealogical research an individualized offer for such a service should be requested. This would be e.g. a complete pedigree chart with three generations requiring visits to archives.
