I can think of no better goodwill ambassador (of Swiss Roots, no less) for the U.S. than Ben Roethlisberger. Not only is he a great football player, but he seems like a really good guy and appears to be genuinely interested in his Swiss heritage. What's more, he's from Ohio! How could you go wrong??? (Okay, I admit, I grew up in Ohio, too.)

I hope Ben's homecoming to Switzerland heightens interest among the Swiss in American football, and, conversely, encourages Americans to take a greater interest in Switzerland, Europe, and the rest of the world. I don't think Americans fully appreciate how integrated and interdependent the world has become, and I think Ben's visit to Switzerland can only help drive that idea home.

Remember not to drink the water while you're there, Ben... unless you have iodine tablets. Oh jeez, I'M KIDDING!!! I would think Switzerland has some of the most pure, tasty water in the world. I'll share more thoughts later.
