It has finally happened! On Wednesday April 2, 2008 at 12:30 pm I have officially become a Swiss citizen with the three small words of "Je le promets". It took only one and a half years to go through the naturalization process and had to wait only 3 days for the new biometric passport. :-) Origin: Corsier-sur-Vevey (the same as Charlie Chaplin's) I maintain my US Citizenship as well. Asked simple question of a conductor who responded very nicely but whatever he said+ more..

Not only am I learning a great new sport, but I'm outside enjoying the beautiful Swiss countryside. Last week we climbed at Pierre du Moëllé, about 1500 meter, in amazingly sunny weather. It was there that I also did my first lead-climb. How exciting! I can't wait to go again... just hoping+ more..

One of my favorite Swiss memories is of an afternoon my best friend and I spent with my aunt and uncle on a drive through villages and past a lovely lake, somewhere around Zug outside of Luzern. We had ice cream at a hotel nestled in the green hills. It was sunny and warm, a June day. My aunt and uncle wanted to make a special dinner. They asked what we would most like to have. 'Veal!', I cried. My+ more..
