The Swiss Healthcare System remains a model of interest for the reform debate. It was implemented in a country with a free-market economy in Europe. Switzerland is a democracy governed by a federal constitution modeled on theConstitution of the United States. The Swiss healthcare reform of 1996 reveals some similarities with the problems we face today in the USA.
